Vegas 7 Media Manager 2.1 & Acid 6

In the Vegas 7 Release Notes:

"If you use Vegas 7.0 on a computer that also has ACID Pro 5, ACID Pro 6, or Vegas 6 installed, please install the Media Manager 2.1 update for ACID Pro 5/6 or Vegas 6. You can find the installation utility in the \Extras\Media Manager 2.1 folder on the Vegas application disc"

I am using the Vegas 7 download version and there is not a seperate Media manager update utility or at the Sony web site (that I can find).

I'm guessing that note only applies if you have Vegas on disc. Disc has Vegas 7.0, the download is Vegas 7.0a. The download version probably already has Media Manager 2.1, though I'm not sure how to check. Can't find an About Media Manager dialog anywhere (in Vegas 6, anyhow).

But I am just guessing. I haven't even downloaded the thing yet.

Edit: Boy, does my intuition suck! ;-)

The problem will only affect you if ACID and Vegas are sharing a common Media Manager library. To be safe, all you have to do is copy your Media Manager library to a new name. Then when Vegas 7 updates it, go back to ACID and see if you can open it there. If you can’t just open the backup that you made. Make sure you have the latest ACID Pro 6.0b.

Vegas 7 uses Media Manager 2.2.

An update for the Sony Media Manager component in ACID Pro 5 and Vegas 6 will be made available on the web site very soon.

This allows sharing of a single media library (.medialib) between these older applications and Vegas 7's Media Manager 2.2 which is based on .NET 2.0.

Having both Media Manager 2.1 and 2.2 installed concurrently is supported (v2.2 will not replace v2.1 in Add or Remove Programs).

You can also have .NET 1.1 and .NET 2.0 installed at the same time - it is not like DirectX where you have to choose a single version.

Is this it? http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=700

I can't install Vegas 7 without breaking my 2.1 Acid & Vegas 6 libraries.

This is strange - (I have Acid XMC and dont use it much - yet). I also have VMS4, VMS6Plat, Vegas6d and now Vegas7. (I guess I need to clean it up). I had issues with my computer - which I never had before - after installing Vegas7. If I tried to open anything other than a virgin vegas 7 project in Vegas 7 the program would hang and close. After that it didn't seem to want to open anything unless I rebooted.
My solution was to uninstall any media manager below the highest number. This fixed my problem - no more hangs. Of course media manager is no longer available to me in Vegas6, but I really wasn't planning on doing any more projects with the older software anyway. My personal experience seems to contradict the administrator - why? I don't know. I am not a programming expert. All I know is I never had a problem before, and I don't have a problem anymore. (Maybe it is a fluke?)

I still can't get both 2.1 and 2.2 happy - tried reinstalls and changed order but no love - 2.2 still won't open 2.1 library.
