Thanks so much for the heads up - this waiting has been driving me crazy! At least I can stop obsessively checking the Sony download site now.

Jay: "There are currently 1470 SCVUG Members."

Heh.

No, I meant, are current members eligible for the drawing? Which has been asked again. And answered. Eh, nevermind. I should probably just delete this post. :)

Hey Rob,

My eyes are going bad. I thought I read "Any" instead of "And"

Hence, my answer ;-)

Ahhh. Okay. It's kind of funny, when you put it that way. (Not about your eyes...)

How about double entries for anyone who took you up on the same offer last year?

No? Bummer. ;)

Yea, how about that, Jay? I wanna know too!
Jay_Mitchell wrote on 9/8/2006, 4:19 PM
Ok, you two guys can have double entries - but, don't tell anyone else. ;-)

I suppose they could avoid an unlucky date by releasing on the 8th...

...the box version also available the 12th?

....everytime I order a boxed version...I never get the cool box that the pictures show...just the disks..whats up with that?
TheHappyFriar wrote on 9/8/2006, 9:45 PM
upgrades don't get a box, only full copies. For several $$ less, i'm not complaining. :)

What's so unlucky releasing it on 9/11? I don't see anyone saying 9/1 or 12/7 are unlucky.

anyway.... having the cd's is always nice. you get the nice mini-manual's too. :)

Got a link to this confirmation?

Just like there is no spoon, there is no box.

confirmation of no box for upgrades? Ask anyone who upgraded. they got a bubble wrap envelope.
rmack350 wrote on 9/8/2006, 11:02 PM
Okay, maybe unlucky isn't quite the word, but I can't see releasing software in the US on the same day that everyone is trying very hard to observe the crashing of two jet planes into the world trade center buildings.

Of course you wouldn't want to release it in Poland on September 1st, or on Oahu on December 7th, either.

Stephen,

When I upgraded to 6+DVDA from 5+DVDA, mine came in the box. I upgraded to version 5 about 2 months before 6 came out as I was happy with 4 and the price dropped for 5.

The Link is: That I have been given the necessary permission to release the details and date of when Vegas 7 will be available to purchase, upgrade or demo. This privilege was authorized from officials at SONY Media Software, directly to myself.

No offense, but the world doesnt revolve around one city... i dont mean to sound harsh, but life does go on...
Dont get me wrong, I appreciate and acknowledge what happened, however i wouldnt think it would be fair to base a business decision which may affect the way people work, on an event which occured in the past.
If the decision to hold it back was for that purpose, then many people are at a disadvantage in the name of political correctness and proprietary.

as for vegas upgrades... well... official upgrades should be Bagged, while full product purchases should be boxed
The bagged versions should also be the ones when offering a competitive upgrade

Thanks Jay for being right on top of this. My apology if my link request sounded jerky. Not my intention.
