Vegas 7e & Decklink

Would anyone know what actual support there is in Vegas 7e for the Decklink Extreme cards? I want to use the decklink to output component video to a sony broadcast monitor.

I have gone to the Preferences tab>Preview Monitior> from the device pull down tab selected Blackmagic Design Decklink.
In the details window it says " Device Unavailable"

I have tried both the 4.8.1 sony certified driver & the current to NO avail. Am I to assume that Sony is not supporting this feature in the current version of Vegas?

The decklink performs stand alone & as a framebuffer in Autodesks Combustion 4, so I know that the card is working correctly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you certain 4.8.1 is the correct version of the drivers?
The information on the BMD website is incorrect but I can't find the correct version on this site either. My Decklink card certainly works for external preview out the SDI port. Don't know about the cards with component out though. I know component capture is supposedly not supported by Vegas.

If I dig up the correct driver version I'll post an update.

Here ya go:

The one and only driver version that'll work is 5.6
More good news, component out for monitoring should work.

Thanks Bob, Indeed you are correct about this driver. It does work & I can preview to my sony pvm via the componenet output on my decklink.

I don't think that even support @ decklink is aware that this driver version is a winner. I was told by them to use 4.8.1 as it was "supported" by sony.

I had the latest version installed, then tried 4.8.1 & now thanks to you 5.6 & success!

Yeah, I agree, one of the best kept secrets about Vegas :)

BTW if capturing be aware that Vegas does the audio through it's ASIO drivers. You must get this configured correctly or all merry hell will break loose. I think all is well after you install the drivers but then all your audio goes out the SPDIF port on the Decklink card.

I made the mistake of switching the audio back to the original drivers and next SDI capture the audio was completely messed up.

Has anyone gotten this v5.6 (or any other version) to work w/ Vegas Pro 8?

It officially doesn't work seems to be the feedback from SCS.

V8 will at some point in time be made to work with the latest drivers from BMD and AJA.

V8 currently works with the Win32 XPdrivers from AJA.
