Vegas 7e Initialization Issue...

I have noticed that if I have a cam hooked up via firewire to my PC and then try to start Vegas, it locks up on "initializing UI". If I turn the cam off or disconnect the firewire link all is well and I can hook the camera back up or turn it back on and it continues loading.

My question: Why the hang up on the user interface when my Sony HVR-A1U is connected?

Sorry, no answers here, but my problem is similar.
My startup hangs on the external monitor initialization, only about every other startup, but doesn't seem to have anything to do with anything being hooked up. The odd part is my system is set up for a single monitor and external monitor setting is set to "none". If I leave it alone, Vegas finishes loading after about five minutes. When it starts normally, it takes about 10 seconds.

I'll be searching for answers.

I have had the same issue on my ADVC100 canopus box on V. 6 but I have no answer found. Haven't seen it with 7 (yet), but I run only 7b on that machine - might have something to say.

@ apguitar:
Have you tried to disable mediamanager - might be the problem. You can diable it in the preferences and have to restart Vegas. You could try that and see if it make a difference.
