I have been following the Cineform vs mxf discussion. I generally use Neo Scene to convert my files before editing. But I thought I would give mxf a try. I used the Proxy Stream script to convert some video to mxf. I have a single clip that is about 20 minutes long and I'm only using about 5 minutes of it. I tried to used the Save-As option that includes the media to trim down the original mxf so I have less material to archive with the project. The procedure works fine with a Cineform avi file, but I when I use the Save-As option with an mxf file Vegas always seems to copy to the entire file. I have not tried this with Vegas 9 (its a bit too unstable).
I can work around this by manually rendering some regions, but it is certainly less convenient than the Save As option. Is there something I am missing? Or is the a bug in 8.0c?
thanks,
rich
