Vegas 8 - Placing markers causes stutter

In previous versions of Vegas I was able to play the timeline and hit M to lay down markers in real time.

In Vegas 8 I can still do this, but every time I hit M the playback stutters slightly. So if I'm trying to place markers on every other beat, it's nearly impossible.

Has anybody else seen this and found a way to tweak things to fix it? It used to be a very useful feature.

might be something with your system. Do you have FX/many tracks, etc? Placing the marker with those could slow it down.

No such problem here -- just tested by adding about a hundred markers during playback to a multicam project with four audio tracks and a dozen audio track fx scattered about. Perhaps it has something to do with your project settings or the audio drivers you have selected in the newer version of Vegas?

Thanks; good to know it's not the new Vegas. I'm using the same system as before with V7. I'll check my settings.
