Vegas 9 - Acid style pitching and looping?

Just seen that Vegas 9 is now out!

I have been looking at Vegas for some time from a multitrack point of view as it has the send copy to soundforge which is handy (which Acid still doesn have!)

I just wanted to know if Vegas 9 now has most if not all of the audio/pitching/looping of Acid, as its now looking more like Sony's flagship but WITHOUT the MIDI side?

In Acid I like the one-shot pitching of tracks getting slower as they pitch down (like a tape deck) using the +/- keys and also the odd acid loops...

Can vegas now do this?

I know when i looked before (Vegas 7) that pitching was always "classic" etc and had algorithms to select whcih i didnt need or want as it "warbled" the audio...

Just hoping that the audio engine is more like Acid now as we are up to v9?

Thanks!

Vegas has had these for a few versions now, possibly starting in version 6 maybe, although some of them may be used slightly differently.

If you want to slow down the audio as well as pitch it down then choose the 'lock to stretch' option and stretch the audio out. To be honest, i don't recall that ACID slows the audio down with the +/- keys either.

Vegas loops just fine, though by default it's timeline isn't based on measures and beats.

Honestly, given the choice between ACID and Vegas, if you're not working with midi and purely beat-based loops, i don't know why someone would want to edit audio in ACID. Vegas just works easier.
