Christian,
Before you go buy a new PC, make sure your levels on your output bus
(Bus A) aren't too high. I was experiencing similar symptoms with
Vegas when I first started. At first I was a bit baffled, as each
individual track would not pop or click, but when I listened to 4 at
once, popcorn! Look to see what the peaks are on your output bus, and
set back the faders to keep the peaks under 0 db.

I hope this is your problem...
