Vegas and iMac anyone?

I've got Vegas Pro 8 on the WIndows (XP Pro, SP2) side of my iMac. It works pretty well, except I can't print to tape or view externally by passing through the camera. Vegas "sees" and controls the camera (a Z1U) just fine during capture; but it but it doesn't give full control of the camera during PTT or to preview externally. It makes me nuts. To make matters worse, Apple says they don't support Windows applications, and Sony says they don't know nuthin' 'bout no Apples.

Has anyone else worked with Sony on the iMac? Got any tips to optimize performance? Should I install SP3?

Thanks,
Charles

Works for me on a Mac Pro, though my print to tape functionality is limited by the old Sony DSR30P deck I own even when running Vegas on a PC so I can't attest to how that works on the Mac Pro.

I can say that I get external preview via firewire without any dramas though.

Obvious basic question.

Have you set up your preview device correctly in the preferences and clicked the 'external' button on the preview window? Sorry for asking if you have done this but ....

Yes, that's the first thing I checked. And I've checked it several times since.

Any thoughts on installing SP3 over SP2 on WIndows?

Thanks

I've had problems with SP3 so reverted to SP2 but they are general installation problems not Vegas specific.

I really think I need to do a clean install but don't have the time to pursue it at present.

I've read posts here from other Mac users who have installed SP3 and run Vegas successfully though.
