Good easy simple cure ... don't use Outlook. ;)

Are you referring to Outlook or Outlook Express.

If it is the full Outlook from the Office Suite, I have been using that on my Editing machine with Vegas 7.0 and now 8.0 since I built the machine with no problems. I used 7.0c, d, and e with no issues.

It's the full Outlook. I've got Vegas 5 loaded without a problem but it will not allow Vegas 7 to run.

Of course, the chances of my upgrading to version 8 are about nil since this is not fixed.

I'm running Outlook 2002 SP3 with V7 and VP8. No noticeable problems Vegas-wise, but I've certainly had Outlook and DreamWeaver get into fights. Outlook has this wierd habit of stopping all other processes while taking up no CPU cycles. Crazy, huh? Only lasts for 10 seconds or so but it's a very frustrating 10 seconds. It seems to mainly do this when Dreamweaver is running, and things have gotten better over time. DW4 and MX would totally fight with outlook. (Might also be that I eventually got a hyperthreading system at work that played referee between the two)

While Outlook might be the problem, it could also be a firewall or virus scanner that scans outlook mail. Norton is an especially bad culprit in general.

I have been using full Outlook (not Express, but that previously worked too.) with Vegas 4-8.

Never a problem.
