vegas and pmw-ex1

Hi all,
I am playing with the thought of buying a pmw-ex1. Now I have downloaded some videos to see wether my systems can deal with the files.

Unfortunately vegas 8.0b trial cannot import the m2v files.

Is there anything one needs to do before? I can´t imagine that sonysoftware isn´t able to deal with it´s own camera.

Any input is greatly appreciated!!

PMW-EX1 here and Vegas Pro 8. All work very nicely.

I think the problem might be as you've only installed the trial version you don't have the Main Concept mpeg-2 codec needed to decode the file.

Several of us here have the EX1 so rest assured it works just fine including the 1920x1080 HQ video from the camera. You also get the essence markers from the camera on the timeline.

That´s pretty strange then. I have Vegas 6 installed too, but that doesn´t accept the files either. Perhaps that is too old?

I usually work with the FX-1 and m2t files.
