Vegas and XP themes

Okay, so this isn't very technical, nor is it essential. But I thought Vegas 5 was supposed to work with XP themes? So far I have found that it doesn't. Not very well anyway. Using it with Windows Blinds causes the scroll bars of the timeline to go completely black.

Yeah I know, unnessecary graphical fluff. But I like my interfaces to look good, and in the real world it isn't going to make any difference to endering times (some reckon windows Blinds uses less system resources than the normal XP interface). So personal preferences aside, anyone know why Vgeas 5 isn't working with the themes very well?

Working with Themes fine for me...in fact, I just finished building and modifying a grundle of themes for one of our clients and a training DVD.

I'm also using WindowBlinds. It rocks for me. You do have to check out the different schemes though because some of them will black out, darken, or otherwise render useless some aspects of the UI. Some of the WindowBlinds Skins are fully customizeable also so you may have to go into the Advanced properties of WindowBlinds and set it up to suit your needs. You can try the Gamma control and adjust the Brightness/Darkness of your skins. There is an option in WindowBlinds for Flat or XP style Scroll Bars. If you find a skin that suites VEGAS you can assign it to VEGAS (per application) and set your Computer UI to another. I hope you get yours up and running cause it's definitely a plus to be able to change the UI to different color schemes. It really helps if your staring at your NLE for long periods of time if you can go a bit darker in color. That's less wear on the eyes. Take a look at the AVID color scheme. It's a subdued color for a reason.

I finally got it working now. I am using the Stealth OS skin which is very usable and pleasant to look at.

This all sounds very interesting. Would anyone care to post some screen shots of what you're getting with Themes? Or, if you can't post, please feel free to send a jpg file to jay [at] gooddogproductions.com.

Thanks!
