Vegas Application Hangs on quit

Hello to everyone
I have a problem with Vegas 8.0b
Windows XP SP3 rc2
When i quit the application and check task manager processes
i find the application running.
This happens always ! i found out because i barely restart my computer and left out of memory. i had like 30 instances of Vegas!
I have restarted and i was able to recreate the problem.
Always , even just open and close vegas, i have an instance on my processes.
Oh by the way this is a new instalation of XP as i got tired of vista and just installed nero, norton 360, sony programs, lightwave, my Printer ,Lightroom and some collectorz.com programs.
Oh and all updates from MS.
Anyone else have the problem? ctrl alt del and processes vegas.exe is there after closing? or anyone know a way to get rid of that?

Perhaps not seemingly being helpful, but start off by getting rid of Norton

More info ,
All SONY Applications hangs on quit , DVD architect 4.5
and even my Acid Music 5 , which is older.
I will try that.. uninstall norton .. but dont have my hopes up.

I've run into this same problem when my OS gets old -- too many programs installed, a bloated registry, too many months running without a clean wipe-and-reload of the OS. Typically when I reload I only load the prog's I need - and will install others as the need arises. This tends to get rid of the problem where programs hang and must be manually terminated. Also, if you wipe and reload your system, get the most up to date versions of any and all software you are running (when $$$ isn't a factor).
