Ok im new to the computer scene of audio recording. I have an Akai MPC2000XL , 4 in/4out maudio card and i want to use Vegas 2.0 to record. Basically i have my drumbeat done on my sampler (for example 8 tracks) now i record 4 of them into vegas but how do i get the rest of the tracks to line up together with them. I want to use the smpte connects on my MPC so i have 2 midi ports to control my 2 keyboards or is their a way with midi to have the computer seqeuncesd with it and still control 2 keyboards. If not could you tell me what equipment i would need yo use the smpte.

Thanks,
Jay Hova

I'm assuming that you have the 2 midi outs on the Akai hooked to your keyboards...you don't have to change that...you just need to hook the midi out from your computer into the midi in on your Akai...then you set up Vegas to send out a midi clock to the Akai (set the tempo in vegas to the same tempo of the track you're working on)...then when you record 4 tracks in they will be locked to the clock...after that just rewind and record the next 4 tracks...they will all be locked to the clock thus locked to each other...reply if you want more details or if my message is a bit unclear...
