Vegas Audio and AudioMedia III

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone has had any trouble working with Vegas Audio using the AudioMedia III sound card. My first attempts at recording with it using Vegas LE 2.0g haven't been too successful - the sound "flutters" during spoken parts, and is fine in the quiet spots. Sound recorded from other sources play fine, however. Sure, I probably overlooked something, but I wanna make sure. My Sound Forge 5.0 on the same computer still records with no problems. Any advice?

I have exactly the same problem. However, I have found that I can record with no problems at 24 bit, but 16 bit stutters terribly. FWIW, I can record at 16 bit with a Soundblaster (Ensonic AudioPci, 1370 chip) with no problems. I submitted a bunch of info and some recorded files to Sonic Foundry about 2 weeks ago but have not heard back from them yet. I do have the latest wave driver loaded (V 1.7) for the AM III card.

Not that it would solve my problems (according to your findings), but could you direct me to a link where I could download the latest wave driver for the AudioMedia III? I thought 1.5 was the latest! Where can I get V. 1.7 for Windows SE? And thanks for the info on 24-bit recordings. I shall try it this morning.

Uh.....apparently Vegas Audio LE won't allow me to record higher than 16-bit unless I upgrade, so I'll have to take your word for it. Bummer.
