vegas audio and windows 2000

I have been using vegas audio since it has come out, and have had no problems at all with it :-)
I now have loaded windows 2000 and now my project icons are not the same and it doesnt recognize them?
I can open a project with them if I am in vegas, but if I try to open them from the folder when exploring, they wont open the vegas program?
The project icons use to have a large "V" in the center and now just have the windows flag and when I try to use them my computer asks what to open it with.
When I look at the list of what to open with vegas isnt there on the list?

Never mind, I have figured it out :-)
I had to re install the software and it is fine now.

There is something about installing a newer version of windows?
I did install XP with no problems at all, but I cant stand XP.
I like to do things on my computer that XP makes hard "things most people dont do ;-)"
Windows 2000 is alot more stable and lets you do whatever you want.

I had other plugins and software that I also had to re instaled.
It all worked before I re-installed it, but there were some strange things there?

I also use soundforge 4.5, 5 an old version of CD architect and CD architect 5.
I use T-Racks, TC electronics bundle, antares auto-tune3, and almost all of sonicfoundry's plugins.
I just reloaded all of these, and now it all works as new :-)

Why not stick with XP, whch should be at least as stable, and go to Desktop Properties | Theme , and select 'Windows Classic' ?

Then you will have all the benefits of an OS that did not stop being developed years ago, and that has features most new applications version *rely* on, without the silly look-and-feel .
