vegas capture not capturing

hello all,
I have captured with Vegas on several occasions and have found the procedure quite painless. However this morning when I tried to capture I got a really odd error which I could not sort out. When started the capture the captured timer went up really fast (many times real time) so it appeared like it was capturing more frames than were being played. I then got a red icon in the bottom left of the capture dialog. When I clicked stop it said that 0 frames were captured. There is over 5 GB free on my disk so I cannot work out why thsi was happening. I was writing teh avi file to my desktop which has write access so I dont think this can be the problem. I have had a look on the internet and not found anything on this. Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks
Richard

Which version of Vegas did you use and where are you located (europe)?

There was a PAL capture bug in earlier versions. Not sure if it was 5.0a or 5.0b in which is was corrected.

You could try to uncheck the Minimum Clip Length checkbox in the capture preferences. This prevented from capture anything in previous Vegas versions.

Or install Vegas version 5.0b. The bug I described above is surely corrected in 5.0b.
