Sometimes it helps to install Vegas Capture as a standalone and use for it another GPU than the one Vegas Pro uses at Options/Preferences/Video

Long recommended on this forum, I used for the first time yesterday the free OBS recorder - https://obsproject.com/
It can be set up to record both video and audio of what appears on your monitor (via settings) and also via settings to ignore its own window, Brilliant!
