Vegas configuration files

On my computer I use Acronis to create backup images of the system partition regularly so that in case of problems I can always recover an earlier working state of my system. If between image backup and image recovery, work on Vegas has been done, then system partition recovery also brings Vegas to an earlier state and the configuration work done in the interim period is lost. To solve this problem I need to identify which file or files contain Vegas configuration and other important parameters. Could anybody help me in this matter please. Thanks.

Sadly, these days most of that is stored in the Windows registry.

Thanks for the answers concerning Vegas configuration files. As a follow-up is it possible to identify the registry keys that contain the Vegas configuration files.

You will find that Sony keeps a boatload of stuff in the registry. In general, for most Windows applications, user config info goes under registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and system wide settings go under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE. Default (template) user info is stored under HKEY_USERS\...\Software, and on my system I do see that Sony has stored a ton of stuff there as well (search each entry under HKEY_USERS to find the Software branch with Sony under it). You should be able to export the Sony portions and save away the export files.

You can learn more about the different registry keys here.

Keep in mind that I have no idea if the above is all inclusive of how Sony stores its info and is essentially pure speculation, so proceed at your own risk.
