OK I"m doing some editing in Vegas. It's the only program open. It crashes. It's been doing that all weekend..but I was playing "DENIAL" until I had a chance to investiage why. I restore the backup copy Vegas makes aitomatically. It starts on it's own at a tempo about 4 times what I recorded. The Metronome comes on by it'self. It then immediatly begins to retard..(slow down) gradually until it's probably at the slowest speed it's metronome will register. There is no music.. there was only like 1/2 a bar of music then it was all just metronome.

While this is going on.. I have no control over Vegas or my system (via mouse). I can't turn off the Metro..or even stop it.. just let it run it's course. I also noticed this time that I could not take my cursor to my seondary monitor (may not be relevant).

Finally it's slowed to a snails pulse and I ctl + alt + Del. and close it. I can now resume contil of my system.

I'm running WIN 98se
Pent3 1gig processor
512 RAM
seperate 7200 rpm audio hard drive (IBM)
Vegas 4c

The only conclusion I can come to is.....
