Vegas cuts of video when it is being pasted.

When I am trying to place a video (video and audio tracks) into a Vegas project, the video tack is often cut in the middle. When I view the original in my VLC, it is present so it has something to do about pasting it into the new project. Any clue about what is going on and how to fix this issue?

There's a possibility of 'incompatible' video file spec or format that leads to 'broken read'

Where this video is coming from and how is it 'made' ? (screenrecord / cellphone video / encoded from other apps)
