Vegas Disappears...

Well, I am very sorry the new VEG didn't fix the problem. My suggestions don't seem to be helping many people, and I don't have any more ideas to offer. Sorry about that.

It is strange that it doesn't fail at the same place each time. There is possibly something going on with the WMV files. If you want to upload them (zip them together to make it easy) to the yousendit site, I'll try one more time to see if I can come up with something. They are the only thing I can see in your project that is even remotely out of the ordinary. Everything else looks "plain vanilla."

JazzyG,
I hate using wmv's on the timeline. I've come across some that work fine, other make vegas very slow.
You might copy the veg, take everything out but the wmv's, turn off all effects, then render that out to avi. Then copy the resulting avi into a new track and sync it with the existing wmv. Then mute or delete the wmv track.
Not sure if that is compatible with what you need to do on the timeline.

If you still have the time, I would like to send the clips to you so you can give it one last look to determine if the clips are the problem.

I deleted all the tracks in the project except the main video track, tried to render it to an avi, and it disappeared. Damn the bad luck. If JM still has the time I plan to send the clips to him to see if he can determine what exactly is the problem. Thanks for your and everyone else's help.

Sorry you are still having problems. I think it may be one or more of your wmv files are not compatible with vegas somehow. I've run into a couple that there is no way it will render.

If you have some time, you might try rendering the last third of your timeline as avi, then the middle third, until it breaks. Then narrow it down further. Eventually you may find that you have to toss one or more clips.

I say start at the end, as you are obviously having problems early in the timeline.

Just another thought.
