I can't seem to work with the video portion of avi files rendered with Vegas in VirtualDub. I can't play them back in the excellent IrfanView player either. Is there some codec file that I need to copy to some location like my Windows System or Windows System 32 directory in order to make this work?
Apit do you mean Vegas Performance? I install'd Irfanview a while back and have noticed some performance probs wondering if it might be the cause.
Did a simple uninstall fix your issues?
I'd never heard of Irfanview, but having now visited their web site, I know what it does. If you think it is causing problems, you might consider one of the ACDSee photo file viewers. Their newer software has a serious case of "bloatware," but the original ACDSee Classic is a marvelous, amazingly quick file viewer. I can guarantee that it won't harm or slow down your computer.
I haven't noticed IrfanView slowing my system down in any way. It is one cool viewer though. One thing it does really well is resizing images - not as good as Photozoom, but as good as anything else, and it's free!
