Vegas edit 19 cannot be executed in South Korea (after 651 patch)

Suo wrote on 5/21/2023, 10:14 AM

(Sorry, It's translator)

I bought vegas edit 19 from South Korea. Not long ago, there was a problem that the program could not be executed. After searching for this issue, I found out that a 651 version is available in this forum, and I installed it. However, when I ran it after installing the patch, it was impossible to register the procedure key. I definitely owned a Purchase Key, but the program warned me of error-14. I also asked the Korean distributor urbansynk (soundcat), but there was no answer. I want to know how to use the purchase order key. There is great disappointment in vegas and magix.

I have never seen a link to a Korean-language version-651 installer posted on this forum, so you need to obtain that from your dealer. What is the file name of the version-651 installer you used? If it does not contain "_KR_" then it is not the Korean version.

I couldn't find a way to solve this problem in vegas Korean distributor. Rather, the Korean distributor did not even know if there was a problem. If this problem is not solved, I have no choice but to abandon the vegas pro.

From Vegas' Support webpage re error code 14 :

Troubleshooting "Error code -14"

You successfully installed your software, but you still receive the message "Error code -14" when you try to register it.

To solve your problem, first check the indicated serial number for typos. In case you purchased several applications at the same time, please check if you were using the serial number matching to the program.

To check the correct serial number for your Vegas Pro 19, go to your MAGIX My Account (which would have been required in order to register and activate Vegas Pro) and go to the My Products heading where you'll find the serial number for your Vegas Pro 19.

It's curious though that Korean doesn't appear as one of Vegas Pro's program languages:

I have already purchased the vegas pro 19 Purchase Key from Soundcat in Korea and used it for more than a year. There was no problem with Key until this problem happened. It is also a key that can be found in the service center at https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/) . However, after installing the 651 patch, only error -14 is visible. Entering the key registered in the service center does not change the situation.

Okay ... go to the Vegas Pro 19 listing under My Products in your MAGIX My Account and de-activate Vegas Pro 19 using the de-activation link (can only be used once per month), Then activate VP19 B651 making sure that you are using the same email address as is used for your MAGIX My Account.

If after deactivation and re-activating it still doesn't work you can create a support ticket with Vegas Creative Software who should be able to help you.

Dexcon, Korean is supported as are other languages like Japanese. They're sold through country-specific distributors. My guess is there is a mismatch between the keys as the ones on this forum aren't for the Korean-language version. The distributor should have the latest version.

Thank you. I checked the video of the YouTuber you recommended. However, he is also offering a temporary solution to disconnect and reconnect to the Internet. There is no fundamental solution in Korea, such as patching.

(Translator) Thank you for your consideration. I tried to log in again with de-activation link as you said, but it still shows error-14. Rather than solving it at the user level, technical support seems to be needed. I sent an email to Magix, but there is still no answer.

(Translator) Thank you for your reply. The program is still not working. 12 hours ago, I sent a technical check mail to magix. I am waiting for a reply from Magix, but there is still no reply.

The key received from the Korean distributor and the key checked from the vegas service center match. But there may be a difference in authority in the purchase key that I'm using. There is no answer from either soundcat a Korean distributor, or magix a developer. Waiting, waiting, still waiting.

It's curious though that Korean doesn't appear as one of Vegas Pro's program languages:

@Dexcon That's the "international" installer. The abbreviations for those languages are included in the installer's file name. For example, for VP20 build 403:

  • VEGAS_Pro_20.0.0.403_DLV_DE-EN-FR-ES-BR_230504_07-19_FAF9119E.exe

Then you have the separate installers for Chinese, Japanese and Korean, also with the language abbreviations in the file name. e.g.:

  • VEGAS_Pro_20.0.0.403_DLV_CN_230504_07-21_1B8E454XX.exe
  • VEGAS_Pro_20.0.0.403_DLV_JP_230504_07-23_CB4D25XX.exe
  • VEGAS_Pro_20.0.0.403_DLV_KR_230504_08-05_DAD672XX.exe

That's why I asked @suo what the file name of his installer file is. It seems highly likely that he's installed the international version over his existing Korean version. If so, then it's not surprising that it doesn't work.

Unfortunately I don't know what the name of the Korean installer for VP19 build 651 is, or if there even is one.

So I'll try again... @Suo, what is the name of the file that you executed to install VEGAS Pro 19 build 651? And in my best Korean:

VEGAS Pro 19 빌드 651을 설치하기 위해 실행한 파일의 이름은 무엇입니까?

Thank you for your kind question.

The build I installed is "VEGAS_Pro_19.0.651_DE-EN-FR-ES-BR_865A072F.exe". This was the only file I could find for vegas pro19 build 651. As you said, I have no choice but to wait until magix releases build 651 that supports Korean. To use the program, it is too cumbersome to disconnect and plug in the LAN every time.

I understand that there are more Asian video editors who give up vegas pro because of the lack of follow-up support from magix. Sadly, I think I'll be one of them soon. Waiting for quick response from magix.

Suo wrote on 5/22/2023, 11:48 PM

Sometimes there are problems with antivirus, wifi routers, firewalls, and/or Internet providers blocking access to the Magix license server. If you can temporarily shut off antivirus or reboot your your computer or reboot your wifi router, it might help. Another possibility is to try coming in through a different Internet provider, either somewhere else or via a smart-phone hot-spot, long enough to activate your license.

Thank you for your good reply.

Before build 651, there was no problem with the license certification, but I will try the method you mentioned.

For what it's worth the Japanese patch for 19 and 20 is out for download from the local distributor so it's likely the same is the case for Korea.
