Not sure I completely understand the question.

For example, if you create and save subtitles in Vegas Pro, you can drag and use them at any time. I wonder if that is possible in Vegas Effect as well. Is it possible to use subtitles by saving them in the program itself instead of saving the project?

I've just started with VE so can not comment. Maybe the more experienced users like @set can give an answer?

@yoo-changyun To be honest I don't really understand the question?.

I can't find Subtitles in VE & the option to import CC isn't available.?

As far as I know in VP you can only save a project, but you can export subtitles in different formats. so the question is - What format are your subtitles 'saved' in?

Reyfox wrote on 11/3/2023, 1:54 PM

@Former user, maybe because VE is for compositing and effects?

@Reyfox

Yep, I only have VE19 but I don't think much has changed since. if subtitles are exported/saved/rendered in some kind of video format then there's no prob they can be dragged into VE just like any vid, SRT files won't import.

The OPs question doesn't really make sense, not enough clarity in the details..

Reyfox wrote on 11/3/2023, 2:18 PM

@Former user, I don't think there is much change between VE19 and VE21. And certainly not in the SRT files. VE is I think specifically there for one thing...

I have Hitfilm Pro 2021.3, and have struggled to even see if it supports SRT.

@Reyfox Just opening Hitfilm now, I wondered whether it would but couldn't be bothered opening it 😂. Be back in a bit.

Nope, the options are pretty much the same as VE, I don't recognise any of the options as subtitle files?

I'm not a heavy user of VE, but so far I know, no way to do what asked.

I liked Vegas Pro because it allowed me to save my subtitles as presets and drag and drop them within the project itself without having to open the project each time I worked on it, but it's a shame that the only way to use Vegas effects is to save them. Yes. that. I was hoping I might not know how, but I guess not.

MikeS wrote on 11/4/2023, 5:17 AM

I'm still confused. Perhaps you could describe how you are currently creating 'subtitles' in Vegas Pro

In VEGAS Pro you can create presets for titles and text and then apply them to say a SRT file you import.

Can VEGAS Effects create such presets rather than a template project? Maybe not.

yoo-changyun wrote on 11/4/2023, 8:08 AM

Maybe it's because I'm not good at English, but I think you didn't quite understand what I was saying.

Indeed. And this results in a set of media clips that you can drag and drop to your hearts content onto your tracks.

But the only bit the OP seems to have mentioned is the drag and dropping. And you can easily emulate that in Effects by creating each subtitle as its own composite shot; these then appear on the media tab, and can easily be dragged and dropped, resized moved etc, onto other composite shots. The difference is that you have to initially create the subtitles manually, no obvious way to work from a SRT file. As for applying a consistent style ... got a subtitle design you like? Just use it as a master, and duplicate additional composites from that one (all you have to do is then change the text)
