Vegas effects crashes every time I add a BCC plugin since I updated...

I have the vegas post 20 and have not upgraded to 21 but I had issues with my bcc license and they resolved that so I would not get a red X in vegas pro 20 but now when I try to use the plugins in vegas effect 4.0.1.0 the program crashes every time!!! any idea what is up? I have tried reloading the software and the effects the BCC version I am on is 16.03... Is there something akin to the cache folder for vegas effects that might be causing this? and how does someone create a support ticket with magix these days??? I could not figure that out it seems like a circular mess!! thanks, Bryan

Sadly, Boris Continuum is not officially supported in Vegas Effects. But, might be worth emailing Boris to see if there is anything they can do. I wouldn't expect the Vegas team to be much help here.

the REALLY sad part is that it USED to work... back in november... before I let my maintenance contract with BorisFX expire... since I have had issues and they just fixed my license so I could used them in vegas pro now but NOT Vegas Effects... what is the difference???

Vegas Effects is a trimmed down version of FXHome's HitFilm Pro (now owned by Artlist) and is a completely different platform to Vegas Pro. In my version of HitFilm Pro (version 2021.3), BCC FX (version 16.5) work fine but HitFilm Pro crashes every time when applying a BCC+ FX.

Is Vegas Effects crashing when applying BCC FX ... or BCC+ FX? If the latter, it is likely that there is a compatibility issue between BCC+ FX and HitFilm Pro/Vegas Effects.

okay... additional discovery... some of the BCC effects Don't Crash Vegas Effects... and they even still work... is there a way in vegas effects to limit the effects listed in the menus to only ones that I find work?

You should fiind in the Effects window a folder named 'Favorites'. You can add selelcted FX to this folder by right clicking the desired FX and in the context window that opens select 'Add to favorites'.

Otherwise, if it is the BCC+ FX that are crashing Vegas Effects, just don't select any Boris FX with a '+' following BCC in the FX's name:

BCC+ FX are always listed first in BCC Unit folders.
