I am attempting to open Vegas Effects from a timeline video in Vegas Pro 18. When I do so, it freezes up, and then I get an error stating:

"An error occurred during the current operation. The reason for the error could not be determined."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the product, but still no luck.

The software can also open on it's own, but not through Vegas Pro. But I do get a "quicktime" error when opening it.
