Vegas erases my recorded overdub from the project

I use Vegas Video 3.0 with an Aark 24 card and windows XP Pro.

Recently, when I finish recording a new overdub, rename the file and go to save it -instead of drawing the peaks - the file disapears from the project. I do see the waveform as I am recording, and it does still exist on my hard drive after it disapears from the Vegas project. This is an intermittent problem that happens maybe one time out of ten.

Anyone know what's up?

I had the same thing happen to me last night, also if you try to pull it up immediately from the folder it is saved in it gives you an error and tells you that the file is unavailable, any of you sonic foundry guys want to shed some light on this? Thnx in advance .
