Vegas External Preview Conundrum?

Grazie wrote on 7/6/2006, 11:36 PM

. .time passes . . .

OK. In my attempt at making a NTSC DVD from an existing PAL AVI file:

* Render NTSC Widescreen from PAL Widescreen ( ... and no Bob I am not ignoring your advise - honest! )

* Open NEW Veg.

* Place NTSC WS on Track 1

* Previews within Vegas. Excellent! Won't pipe out to External Monitor. Not-excellent.

.. Grazie thinks sideways . ..

* Open New DVDA3 project

* Drag NTSC WS file to DVDA3 Menu

* Go to DVDA3 Preview.

* Hit Preview/Play

* File pipes out to External Monitor and I can preview NTSC WS on External Monitor.

Summary:

Vegas External Monitor: No

DVDA3 External Monitor: Yes

Why?

Comments invited.

TIA

OK,
just to check the bleeding obvious.

Your new project is NTSC Wide Screen?
Your D->A converter is switched to NTSC?

Try this, just open a NTSC project, drop generated media onto track, does external preview work with this simple test?

Bob.

Bob, PC is presently tied up rendering a loooong render . . don't wanna play with things 1394 at the moment - yeah?

However, I'll check out the B.O. when the digimites settle down and Take 5 yeah? But with all the very different experiments I've done ion the last 24 hours, I wouldn't bet the farm on me NOT screwing up. Been there.

Sorry Bob for not getting back at yah! Got back from A&E with a nasty tertiary infection on a recovering thumb, this around 2:00am this morning and kinda been floating on pain killers and what not .. nothing to get serious about, BUT I suddenly realised I hadn't responded. Tell you what Bob, at this point in time I want to regroup my ways I'm getting my stuff out to the JVC. I've just played OUT from a DVD player the NTSC formatted material looks fine. But I do still have some issues hanging about just exactly WHAT I did. Gonna stay around for a bit and maybe close down Vegas and DVDA3 and just float!!!

I had deleted the DAR material and had to reconstruct what I wanted. Meant I had to reconstruct.

Best regards matey,

Grazie

A good ale is a much better pain killer but you can't get that on the NHS.

Bob.
