Vegas fail to capture m2t

When I try to capture from tape or from "live firewire" clips are generated on harddisk.
When trying to open them the files are corrupt.
There is no method in which files that fail, sometime the first in a capture seq. sometimes the 3rd...

Anyone experienced similar with Vegas?

DV captures OK.

Can the PC (laptop) be too slow to process it? The DV files are of the same size.

When I end a capture (STOP button) a dialog appears reporting and error. 3 options exist (replace, ignore, ignore all sub...)

Is this a Vegas error and is capturing live/from tape this fragile?

The film plays well in the camcorder.

I have no problems capturing M2T

Although M2T files are the same size as dv, their structure is quite a bit more complicated and do require a bit more horse Power. What are the specs on your laptop?

You could try a free capture program called HDVsplit... it works pretty well with Vegas 7d... although I must admit I have had problems with it in 7e

Are you using the Vegas HDV capture utility (different to Vidcap) ?

I'm using the Capture Video > HDV in Vegas.

I seem to have found the problem to two issues:

-- Failing capture - not enough CPU. Tried more power today and works perfect

-- Previous post on "no preview" - seems like Vegas do not preview when CPU is not enough. On the faster PC they display is there, on the slow laptop (1.3 GHz) it does not.
