Vegas has stopped working error

I have a new Multi Media CPU running Vista with plenty of memory but I am getting crashes in Vegas Platinum 8.0. I will be working on a project and it just locks the program and says Vegas has stopped working. Then I have to restart and it asks if I want to restore. This is very aggravating! I am attaching a copy of the error file, any help would be appreciated!

It seems that your project file might be corrupted. Is it HDV by any chance?

I think it is set up as hd, should I try and change the format?

I changed the format to Widescreen 720, re-saved the project and am still getting the stopped working error. I am starting to wonder if its a Microsoft One care Live compatibility issue?
