I recently installed Sony Vegas 7. The Media Manager would not install. I got an answer from tech support but as I am completely retarded when it comes to computer-based programs and struggling to learn how to use Vegas and other DV related post-production software it was mostly Greek to me.
They suggested I verify that the Microsoft SQL_Server Desktop Engine was installed. It was. Then to see if it was actually able to run on my computer by going to the Control Panel, administrative tools, Services and look for a service named MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAGR. It was not listed. When I tried to install it I was told that you do not have “privilege” to run this program. I have no idea what that means. I had uninstalled Vegas and Magic Bullet as instructed and followed their instructions step by step but then I came up to this completely unexpected response, which makes no sense to me.
Can someone, keeping in mind my complete imbecility on this subject, explain in laboriously simplistic terms, what this means and what I need to do to solve the problem I am having getting Vegas fully installed on my computer? Thanks.
