You've just discovered a reason to upgrade to Vegas Pro 19.

@john_dennis Hi, won't V17 do 9:16?

@Former user

Vegas Pro 17 will allow one to create project settings 1440x2560

but, the Magix AVC encoder won't output one's masterpiece.

Possible solutions:

  • Render to uncompressed AVI and encode in an external encoder (watch for sound sync issues).
  • Use Happy Otter Scripts of Vegas Pro
  • Use Voukoder. I'm not sure about the current state of sound sync issues with Voukoder.

I checked Voukoder audio sync in Vegas Pro 17. The audio rendered from Voukoder with the default template leads the audio in the Vegas Project by 22 ms.

My previous suggestion to upgrade to Vegas Pro 19, still gets the job done.

@john_dennis Thanks, that's a bit rubbish, 'Vegas Pro 17, Released on 5 August 2019' , people were def using/creating portrait vids then, In V19 sometime Magix HEVC will allow a custom preset to be rendered that Magix AVC won't allow, Is that true in V17?

@Former user

"people were def using/creating portrait vids then"

They were, just not 1440x2560 from Vegas Pro 17 Magix encoders.
