VEGAS is lagging while play 4k footage.

Just look at this clip.

i was using Adobe Premier 2024 and VEGAS Pro 21 _ 315

look at the playback difference between both of them.

as when i change curser to somewhere else on timeline in adobe it stop playback. which is expectable.

but vegas is keep playing it when change curser position and start lagging.

same system, same clip, different software,

what is reason behind it.

I didn't try playing it with Legacy AVC - On because as you can see in the video it plays perfectly well for me when Legacy is off, despite what might be thought reg my comments I do use (315) @ default settings & find it better, (if you ignore the frame discrepancy at the end of the tracks)

according to this what do you feel? what is the actual reason behind this.

i thought... NVIDIA is the best partner of VEGAS pro .. not AMD.

@Gid as i don't use too much mind.. can u tell me what i will miss, if i will be keep using Legacy Mode On in every VEGAS version from now for smooth workflow.

what are the benefits of Legacy Off mode (default settings)? which i will miss?

@iEmby I tried it with Legacy On & got the same good playback as my video above with Legacy Off.

For me when Legacy is off it's using the new mxcompoundplug, When Legacy is On it's using the old so4compoundplug,

Mine is set at Off,. I'd like to see the frame offset or the unquantized frames on Constant events & Render to a new track fixed but I trim those off in my editing anyway or I can deal with it in some way, so I can live with that.

Most important for me is the stability of this (315) build, I honestly haven't had any crashes, playback with HEVC is flawless, I like to play with the Boris fx's, previous versions of VP crashed on a daily basis, more often my fault for swapping fxs too quickly or whatever. but I do just the same in this latest version & have had 0 crashes.

+ render times are better, I've tried this with other events but as an example I rendered your video.

Legacy AVC - On - 8.30mins

Legacy AVC - Off - 7.05mins

I'm not the one to talk about benefits of either Legacy option, some find one option better than the other, I would much prefer to be using the latest version & for me the benefits far out weigh the negatives.
