Vegas Markers didn't show up as Chapter Points

What I did:
1 - Inserted Markers with names in Vegas at Chapter Points
2 - Rendered video as ...
... Main Concept MPG-2 (*.mpg)
... Template = DVD Architect NTSC Video Stream
3 - Rendered audio as...
... Digital Dolyb AC-3 (*.ac3)
... Template = Stereo DVD
4 - Used same name for video & audio
5 - Created a new "Menu Based" project in DVDA
6 - Used Insert Media In DVDA to insert the .mpg file into my new DVD project

The Problems:
7 - No Audio (was told if names same, DVDA would pickup the audio file)
8 - No Chapter points at Vegas markers (Was told rendering as I did DVDA would convert the Vegas Markers to chapter points.

My Vegas Project is about an hour of video and I rendered the whole thing as outlined aboue.

I also tried a new DVDA project as a "Single Movie" but still got no audio or chapter points.

Can anyone help walk me through this?

Thanks - Will

When you choose File-Render AS for the MPEG render, you MUST check the option to "include markers". Then they will appear in DVDA.

As for the audio, this works if the file names are identical except for the extension. However, it IS very simple to just drag the audio file up to the proper box.

Jet,

Thanks for the note.

No sound, even after dragging the ac3 audio file on to the DVDA screen after dragging the mpg video

Yes, my files have the same name and are in the same directory.

Any suggestions?

Thanks - Will

I had the "no sound" issue happen to me yesterday. I took an AVI file, dragged it to the menu video and then the same file to the menu audio. The menu had no audio.

I then started from scratch, redid the above steps and this time the menu had audio.

Not sure what the problem was the first time.

I've never had a real issue with it missing markers - this has always seemed to work for me. I HAVE seen it miss picking up the audio file, though.
