vegas matte question

i want to use a black and white matte. i want one video to show through the white, and i want another video to show through the black. i will be using one of the mattes withing vegas. this is what i want the effect to be.

i will be using a video clip, a digital juice jumpback, and a matte.
as you see the video the matte is made so large you can't tell it's there, then the matte gets smaller, revealing the oval in the matte, in which the jumpback will begin to show through. as the matte getts smaller, the jumpack gets larger creating a type of transition. i have done this in premiere, but i cannot do it in vegas

thanks

Almost the same topic, this is a short video tutorial showing a transition made from a moving b&w matte : http://www.vegasusers.com/vidshare/textdisp?chienworks-transition-mask-tutorial

What you want to do will be very similar. You are presumably using a still image for the matte though. You can use Track Motion to start with the matte magnified very large and then gradually become smaller and smaller until it just fills the frame. Place the matte on track one and use keyframes to control the track motion. The clip to be seen through the black areas will be on track three and the clip to be seen through the white areas will be on track two. Make track one a compositing parent of track two.

Here's a screenshot of this sort of transition being done: http://www.rchv.com/transitions/vegas-transition-screen.jpg. Note that at the very left edge of the screen there is a line connecting tracks one and two. If you click on the crooked arrow at the left of the track it joins it to the track above in a parent/child relationship.
