Vegas Meltdown? or computer?

Something very odd is happening to me when I render a few different tracks down to one track. I'm rendering to a .wav file, as I always do...and as I did last night. Now, I have an 8GB hardrive...with almost 4GB free...however...when
I start rendering the .wav file...suddenly that 4GB starts approaching 0 in chunks of 0.2GB every two seconds or so!!!! So, if I render a 4 minute section...which normaly would end up being somewhere around 45MB....4GB start to disappear!!!
Everything else with the computer seems fine...I just did a full scan-disk and defrag...and the problem still exsists. Anyone have any clue here? I've been using this for years...and I'm not doing anything different from what I always do!!

figured it out folks....I found that if I had the gapper/snipper Vegas plug-in...it caused the problem for some reason.

How on earth can you survive with an 8gb drive???
I have an 80 and wonder if that's enough.

About your problem, i don't understand...how do you know "that 4gb starts approaching o"? what indicates that? Vegas?

Suppose the best advice would be to cut loose with the $89 for 60gb 7200rpm maxtor.
Or get wacky and shell out $119 for the 80gb.

Or find a good deal with a rebate. I got my WD 120GB, 7200 RPM, 8MB cache for $69 after rebates.

The Gapper/Snipper is really a rather unfriendly plug-in to use in a multi-track environment.

I would recommend using this plug-in with destructive event fx or in Sound Forge if possible.
