Vegas missing oppourtinities

Hi im a Corporate producer using Pro8c. I have just spent 2 days in london at the large Broadcast Show. all the big playere were there inclusing SONY with a large stand.. I was so dissapointed as the only vegas software was one man in the corner showing wedding video clips on it. Now i have previousally done weddings for many years and am not critising the expert videographers but i could not believe that sonys flagship editing software was not being promoted. AVID, ADOBE and FINAL CUT had hudge stands with experts and great training sessions. I went around to many of the hardware manufacturers who make capture and processing cards for many of the editing software but each of them were complaining about sonys lack of communication with when in intergrating vegas with hardware to give us vegas users a more professional edge.
I couldnt even get an answer on future vegas development.

So ill stop moaning but i hope sony is listening. After trying many editing programs.. vegas is Fantastic but needs to be promoted, developed, and intergrated more into the great hardware and plugins avaliable to keep us using it.

Any thoughts!!!

You're a little late to this party, check out the thread entitled, "Vegas is Dead."

This is starting to remind me of something from Life Of Brian.
It's a pity everything posted here is copyright SCS, there's just gotta be the making of a movie in this :)

It kinda bothers me when they remove the thread......
I guess Robert may be right

It could also be that a few users complained about the thread as it was starting (once again) to get nasty :-(

>>>AVID, ADOBE and FINAL CUT had huge stands with experts and great training sessions<<<

That's because , unintuitive, bloated crap software like those mentioned above need experts and loads of training sessions just to get started.

With Vegas it's easy, not only video, but audio too. No need for experts to show you around.

Hope that explains it.

They removed the thread because Robert started making physical threats on a public forum. There's no conspiracy here.

[b]" Any thoughts!!! "[b]

I'm thinking this is a strange 1st post in these forums, from a Corporate producer using Pro8c ...

If Vegas is not giving you the professional edge you need, why are you using it..

[b]"So ill stop moaning but i hope sony is listening. After trying many editing programs.. vegas is Fantastic but needs to be promoted, developed, and intergrated more into the great hardware and plugins avaliable to keep us using it. "[b]

What are you moaning for, if you find it so fantastic in light of the other programs you have tried ?

I don't think a corporate producer would suggest that a core application be integrated into a plug-in.

I just thought I would wholeheartedly refute blink's claim that I made a physical threat on this forum. I said I was going to be at the show and that I did not think that people would talk to me to my face like they have been in this forum. There seems to have been a rather insidious effort to misinterpret and misquote things I have written as some people can not tolerate my views and assessment of the situation and they are trying to discredit me personally and have me removed from the forum.

"I just thought I would wholeheartedly refute blink's claim that I made a physical threat on this forum."

Yeah... what was it... Oh yes...

"Would you like to say that to my face, I'll be at the show tomorrow"

This BTW was said to a respected person that's been on the forum for MUCH longer than you can control your temper. Now you're certainly free to twist that statement any which you want after the fact, but the problem here is that that people in general aren't as naive as you believe.

And if you get kicked off the forum, (which I believe you will sooner or later) try to remember that it will only be because of what YOU write. I say that because I know your type.... it always everybody else's fault and never yours.

It is you that is insisting it was a threat even though I have clarified several times now that it was not a threat. You are stringing it out. I have made it perfectly clear, I was saying that people were having a basic disrespect for me expressing my views and
I did not think they would do it if they spoke to me in person. It is as simple as that.

Robert, I am prepared to accept you as sincere, but you must realise that the words you choose to use are very easily misunderstood.

e.g.1 "Vegas is dead". A bland, provocative statement. Why not "Concerned about Vegas's future" ?

e.g.2 ""Would you like to say that to my face, I'll be at the show tomorrow." A direct challenge. Why not "I honestly don't think you'd say that if you met me."

oh no here we go again ! lol :)

I think I have clarified it enough now for the message to have sunk in. If someone wants to think something even though they have been told plainly what was intended, what can I do?
Terje wrote on 2/22/2009, 4:27 AM
I have clarified several times

Don't worry about it Robert, after clarification nobody but blink3times took that as a threat. The problem is that blink3times is utterly incapable of letting something go when he is wrong, and he is very often since he has a terrible tendency to talk about things he has no clue about (such as how computers and software operates). After a while he will eventually do the online version of stuffing a few fingers in his ears and go "lalalalala".

Good thing for the rest of us is that blink3times can do a really neat trick, he can easily stuff his fingers in his ears and have them meet in the middle with no nasty side effects.
