Vegas Movie Studio 11.0 hangs on splash screen

after a crash about 4 days ago, the program won't open. I have vegas movie studio HD platinum 11.0.295 production suite

But, I'd suggest you jump to this part of STEP 3:

On Windows Vista/Windows 7:

Deleting [better editing it (if you know what you're doing)] that file usually does the trick, for me.
