Vegas Movie Studio 16 Plat not recognizing HEVC/H.265 videos?

So, I bought a new BlackVue DR900X-2CH dashcam. Since then, I have been unable to open the videos via Vegas Movie Studio 16. The camera settings are set for H.265, which should be supported by now by any editor.

Normal, Windows 10 Pro; Intel 8750; 16GB 3200; ooodles of space - nothing weird

I have installed the latest Apple Quicktime (oof--aweful) and even had to install K-lite. Still, Movie Studio cannot open the file. I can run the file all day long (Windows media player, VLC, etc...).

Has anyone been able to read these GoPro GHnnnn,mp4 (Timewarp -timelapse) H.264 AVC files yet with VMS xx? The GoPro Hero 10 records in HEVC and HEVC+H.264 constant frame rate and while I can open GXnnnn (HEVC) files with VMS 17, not the GHnnn.mp4 H.264 AVC .
