VEGAS Movie Studio 16 Platinum does not start on W10

Hi,

since the upgrade of my PC from W7 to W10, "VEGAS Movie Studio 16 Platinum" (16.0 build 109) does not start anymore. I have completely removed the software and reinstalled it, with reboot to be sure, it does not help.

The splash window remains at the "Creating video plug-in factory..." stage and the process takes 25% of CPU forever. I have tried to start it as admin and it did not help either.

I also noticed that Vegas has started the "ErrorReportLauncher.exe" sub process.

I have a second PC with original W10 (not upgraded) where I have no issue.

Anyone can help?

Many thanks.

Hi @EricLNZ, thanks. That helped to identify the culprit.

It is "C:\Program Files\VEGAS\Movie Studio Platinum 16.0\OFX Video Plug-Ins\ofx360Stabilizer.ofx.bundle".

If I remove that folder the application starts.

What should I do at this stage? Forget about that stabilizer? Or is there a way to recover it?

And what corrupts this plugin, in a fresh install? Could is have something to do with my graphics card?

VMS Plat 16 has a new stabilizer, but the old one is still there in case you open an old file from a previous version that used it. Also you can "unhide" the old stabilizer in Internal Preferences so it is available in the Video FX list. I cannot tell whether the one giving you problems is the old or new. As to what to do, sorry I don't know the answer. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along.

The 360 Stabilizer is a different from the new Video Stabilization plugin. The 360 Stabilizer is to be used specifically for 360 footage.

The new Video Stabilization plugin should still be available if the 360 Stabilizer is unavailable.

If the 360 Stabilizer is causing a crash on startup, it is most likely due to a driver issue with your graphics card.

Me too!

My Movie Studio 16 Platinum didn't start until I deleted this directory.

The Intel HD4000 is below system requirements. The minimum Intel GPU is HD 530.
