The GPU of that one is HD 2000 and I could only find the latest driverversion for that one of 2015, pretty old for todays use with a new videoprogram.
If the program will load complete on that laptop I doubt.

@JW-Curtis Build 179 appears to be causing problems for some. If you cannot resolve the problem you could uninstall and then install the original Platinum build found here

ErikLNZ: I installed the file from your link above and it actually did start up. Then it informed me about an upgrade and I installed it. After that it didnt work. I de-installed everything and installed version 143 from you link above. It started up without any problems and I could open a project. I can render to normal files, but the program crashes when I try advanced options.

I am happy with version 16, which I use together with Media Composer and Resolve 16. Movie Studio Platinum 17 doesnt seem to be worth the hazzle.

I was told that they are creating a new update just for this problem but who knows how long it will take.
