Vegas Movie Studio crashes on render of VD Video

I am editing *.m2ts HD Video files in Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0. When I got to render this as a Windows Media Video V11 (*.wmv), the program immediately stops with an Exception error. Vegas then closes. I appreciate any help.

Windows 7, 64-bit
Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0
Version 9.0b (Build 92)

Copy/paste the timeline to a new project, after you setup the project properties correctly on the new window. Try to export. If it still crashes, then export in Sony AVC instead. No reason for WMV usually.

This will help possibly only if the rendering dies sometime during the render (when it runs out of RAM), while his render stops immediately, according to the OP (which indicates project corruption). Besides, let's try to fix it the easy way first, before we start hacking windows. :-)
