Vegas Movie Studio + DVD

Considering the hassle I went through to even get a copy of Movie Studio (being a Canadian and Sony Canada deciding that we don't deserve to buy their products) I think I will risk having to buy an upgrade and open the box.

=)

As an aside, it looks like Long and Mcquade can order in Movie Studio for $140 Canadian now. It's still cheaper to get it direct from the states but it is always nicer to deal with someone local IMHO.

Cheers

Sony does not include a full version of DVD Architect, but a slimmed down version, called DVD Architect Studio. See this post:

I still think for $99.95 list, this will be a great product. I already have 3.0 so I'm going to wait for an upgrade price.

I just ordered the upgrade from Sony for $29.95 and free shipping.
Download available at the same price.

One thing I wondered about - will ScreenBlast 3 projects slide straight in, or will I need to complete them before I install Vegas Movie Studio?
(I remember the bad old days of upgrading Pinnacle Studio 8 here!!!!)

Well, I guess when it arrives I can find out for myself.

Good deal.

According to the readme, you can open .vf project files from prior versions. But, they recommend that you immediately rename the project files since once you save them using version 4, you won't be able to open them in the older version.

The install instructions for the new version say to not install it into the same directory as an older version. This implies that you can run both versions on the same machine. I've done a very quick sanity check on this on my machine and it works so far.
