Vegas Movie Studio Platinum

Hello everyone.

I was thinking of upgrading to platinum. for the hd import and the 5.1 surround sound mixing. Because right now i'm working on a feature length animated film and these tools can be very useful.

But with my version of vegas movie studio 6. I've found it that when i export scenes at 720X309. at a length of about 4 to 5 minutes. The export file sizes are from 2gb and up.

And i was wondering with platnium. I'm going to be doing the same scenes at 480p. And with 5.1 surround sound. And i hope to put the whole film together in platnium, which is about 1hour and 50mins. Could anyone give me any ideas on how big the final export will be. And does platnium lower the export file sizes.(Becuase it seems that movie studio 6 export file sizes are rediculously high). Or can anyone lead me into the right direction of a program that wont compress my film and still export and edit it the way vegas movie studio does. At a lower file size and nothing past 10gb for the whole hour and fifty minutes.

Thanks

10GB for 110 minutes is *very* compressed. You don't want to work with files that size as the quality will be bad. You want to save that sort of compression for the final DVD version.

The file size depends on the bitrate and the length of the file. Depending on the format any editing software will let you pick from a range of bitrates. Higher bitrates result in larger files of better quality. Lower bitrates result in smaller files of poorer quality.
