In my build 122 all the thumbnails in the explorer and Project Media show normal and as intended.
I found a file that causes an error. I don't know why.

As soon as I drag it to the timeline or switch the view to "thumbnail" the program crashes immediately with this error message
I have the same problem with this file. I don't know why. I delete it.
Crash on my Vegas Pro 14 as well.
But if I put to Photoshop, and change the image mode from Grayscale to Color, and then resave, no issue on new file.

Tried all kinds of MP3 quality ( also those made in VMS 14) but all are playing well for at least half a minute.
Just a mp3 on the timeline is no problem as long as you don't put also videoevents on that timeline!

Tested with various external MP3 as well as MP3 rendered by MSP14, but I can't repro. They work fine here, even when playback runs for more the 20 minutes. With or without video makes no difference here.

but fortunately it doesn't happen with older projects containing mp3 soundfiles, I created with VMS.
Did you try rebuildung the peak files or deleting the peak files to enforce a rebuild?

My preview window sometimes freeze (MS not crash). I check running process (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and I found Movie Studio running 2 times. Please check process after crash. I close all not closed process and everything run fine.

I'm still in production with VMS 11; but my major error in 14's Build 105 is gone in 122: immediate crashes on loading 95% of my ver 11 projects.

I made a .png QR code there too and that also crashes Vegas Pro 10-14 and VMS14. It doesn't crash any other applications on my computer, and I tried A LOT of file managers and photo editing applications.
However I also tried many different .png files from different sources in Vegas, and they are OK too.
So it seems a bit of 50/50 blame here: a) http://www.qr-code-generator.com/ seems to be generating .png files that have some peculiarity, and b) Vegas is less tolerant of that peculiarity than other programs.
