Vegas Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working

I just bought the Vegas Movie Studio and just install it for the very first time, but when I run the application, it send me the error "Vegas Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working". The application stopped when is trying to initialize the audio engine.

Is anyone has been experience this problem?

Make sure you have Quick Time player installed on your computer, the latest version.

I'm having the same problem--My copy of Vegas Movie Studio PE 8.0 is not starting. It crashes during start-up. The first time is did it while it was setting io managers.

I uninstalled it and reintsalled it. Now it crashes during DirectX setup.
I downloaded and installed the update (Platinum 8.0c) now it crashes right after the start up screen comes up. I have the latest Quick time v7 and DirectX10.

Can anyone help? I put in an email request to Tech Support that was a week ago...still no word.

This 'may' help you: create another user account for windows and install Vegas under that account, but make sure it becomes available for all windows accounts. Some people have been helped with this trick.
