Vegas Movie Studio Platinum has stopped working

Brewman wrote on 1/27/2010, 9:51 AM
Have updated to the latest version and whenever i try to put the video into the timeline it crashes and just says"sony vegas platinum has stopped working"

OS Windows 7
New laptop with good specs so shouldnt be a problem there
Tried with both m2ts files and mpeg4 which have been recorded via Hauppage pvr hd from a ps3

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Yeah, SVMP9's compatibility with Windows 7 seems to be really sucking right now. I have a few suggestions.

1) Do you have the proper codecs? If you're not sure, go to http://www.cccp-project.net/ and download the free codec pack there.

2) Is Quicktime installed on your computer? If not, go to http://download.cnet.com/Apple-QuickTime/3000-2139_4-11031688.html and download it. This is version 7.6.2. Don't download the version from Apple, as Sony hasn't developed support for anything past 7.6.2 yet.

That would explain ALOT! I have a laptop with Windows Vista, and Vegas worked great for a while, but when i installed it to my desktop, even with quicktime 7.6, it still didnt do as good as vista!
