Vegas Nights: A Forum Monitoring Tool

Marco, if you create different directories for vn.exe to reside in then yes, you could run it multiple times and monitor several forums at the same time. Maybe I should add a feature to monitor several forums simultaneously.

In the meantime, a new version is available, v1.41 - there was a strange bug that would cause Vegas Nights to stop monitoring the forums if a blank HTML document was returned. No one actually reported this bug, but reviewing the code, it was theoretically possible that if the forum returned blank data, Vegas Nights would stop monitoring, and that would be very sad.

Thanks! Now I'll never remember where I am in my projects. John.

What do you mean?

'Cause I have to stop and find out what is going on with real people and not my Virtual set. I stop and read, rather than stop when my wife yells at me. Oh Jonathan, Oh Jonathon! What evil thou hast wrought. John

Hopefully this will be the last update for awhile. I had to change the configuration so that you could adjust for the the first real thread in any given forum (because the stickies offset the balance).

Another Update: About creating a Deshaker plugin. The two-pass method really makes this improbable. I did receive some replies from the fine gentlemen I emailed though - and I would like to give them kudos for responding to the idea with great additudes. Edward Troxel of Excalibur offered to help where he could but is experienced in scripting more than plugin development. Gunnar of DeShaker very kindly explained the issue with two-pass, but does not have the time to work on a Vegas port. Satish of PluginPac, Wax, etc said he would check out the forums here and let me know his thoughts in a few days. I'm still hoping to hear from Mike Crash - but I do want to let everyone know how awesome these guys are for taking the time to respond to my request, and so timely. Thanks guys (wherever you are)!

I use Windows IE7RC1.
Execution of VN1.5 immediately generates an unending loop in IE7, opening additional windows of Vegas forum pages without ending...
