I heartily applaud your efforts and your work. This is the kind of scientific approach that really pays dividends for everyone.

Hey thanks for the positive remarks fellas. It was getting scary to even post in here for a while ;)

The more results the better. Send 'em in!

Hey, I installed the V5 demos, opened up the VEG files, but I get a warning for ALL of the audio tracks that the presets can't be loaded.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I got that it was loading audio proxy files? not quite sure what that is. Then the waveforms on the t/l looked more like spikes than a traditional looking audio files.

epirb & Friar,
I had the exact same issues on 2 different machines (P4 at work and AMD at home). The AMD loaded the files just fine while the IBM gave me the audio warnings. On both machines, the waveforms look like spikes. I sent Mark some screen caps and it seems to be normal.
My fix for the error messages was to load the file, ignore the warnings and re-save it under a different name. Load the re-named version back in and it comes up fine.

yeah, if you listen to the audio files they're instruments, and the peaks are no problem.

I had this same prob with presets under V4 yesterday. However, does it actuatly load the settings for the FX or does it go with the defaults?

If you re-saved it & opened the saved copy then it would just go with what it changed the settings to.

I can't answer that for certain until I'm back at work tomrrow to compare but, as I recall, it did load the actual settings, i.e. not changing anything along the way.

Will this work with Vegas 4?

Sorry Mario but it was written for Vegas 5 so it won't work with 4.

Do you have an e-mail I can send my discrimination charges to?
If I sue you, I should make enough money to upgrade.

A couple people have had problems with the filters not loading the presets. I'm not sure why, I was sure to only use filters that come with Vegas 5. And yes, the wav files are a multitrack live recording of a band.

Hey, would you mind if I took the files & made a V4 version? Then on your chart you could compare V4 efficiency to V5 too. :)
